Andrew Leith Macrae

Managing Editor
Equally at home in the Gutenberg Galaxy and cyberspace, Andrew's day
job is as a consultant
in the multimedia field. He has published short stories in Quarry
and Writ, Currently he is rewriting a novel, Negative
Man, and planning his next project: The Man with the Prosthetic
Brain; or, How I Flunked the Turing Test. He lives with his cat Boswell
in downtown Toronto, although his two teenage children continue to be
a central part of his life.

Julie Roorda
Poetry Editor
Julie's first book, a collection of poetry entitled Eleventh Toe
was published by Guernica
Editions in Spring 2001. A collection of her short stories, Naked
in the Sanctuary,
some of which have previously appeared in such publications as Fiddlehead and A
Room of One's Own, will be published by Guernica in November
2003. She is currently working on a novel.

Loreli C. Buenaventura
Arts Editor
Loreli C. Buenaventura grew up writing, directing and performing in popular
theatre, and was a newspaper columnist in Winnipeg's Filipino community.
A frequent speaker on anti-racism and international development, Loreli
has sat on the board of numerous organizations including the United Nations
Women's Committee, Oxfam, and the Community Legal Education Association.
Now living in Toronto, Loreli is a freelance writer/journalist whose works
have appeared in the US and Canada, including CBC radio. She is currently
writing her memoir entitled In Visibility.

Sean Tai
Design
Sean Tai grew up in Fredericton, N.B. and now lives in Toronto. He is
contemplating several writing projects, including a novel based on his
story "American Woman", which won Special Honourable Mention in the 1998
This Magazine Great Canadian Literary Hunt. In his spare time he has been
reading Flannery O'Connor and Francine Prose, as well as occasional manuscripts
from the slush pile at McClelland
& Stewart, where he is employed as a typesetter.

T. Stephen Lavender

Steve lives in Toronto. He is a recovering labour lawyer (there's a 12-step
program) who hopes future generations will forgive him his youthful folly.
Currently he is taking a year's sabbatical, and working on a novel in
the hope of making amends for all his sins.

Mentor, Patron and Editor-at-Large
One
of Canada's leading men of letters, author of more than a dozen works
of fiction and non-fiction, member of the Order of Canada, recipient
of numerous honours (such as the W. O. Mitchell Award), broadcaster,
diplomat, civil rights leader, and all round good guy.
Austin's most recent novel, The Polished Hoe, has
garnered widespread acclaim, and is the winner of the 2002 Giller
Prize, among many others.
